So what is a 404 error anyway? Well, the technical explanation; a "Not Found" or "404" error message is a HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server (as in the server is online and working) but either the server could not find what was requested (most likely it didn't exist), or it was configured not to fulfill the request and not reveal the reason why (not typical). 404 errors should not be confused with "server not found" or similar errors, in which a connection to the destination server cannot be made at all. If you're on this page and reading this, you were simply looking for a file that just didn't exist anymore (or never at all). It's OK... it's probably just a bad link our there in cyberspace somewhere.
